I’ve been doing this blogging thing for a little over a decade now, and it never ceases to amaze me just how many article posts sit in “drafts” mode… forever! It’s like I had this fabulous thought that I vomited out into the beginning formations of a post … and there it stayed… partially finished, incomplete, not a “real” post.
Isn’t it funny how so many things in life are like the drafts in my Posts list? So many great thoughts and ideas and plans off to a great start…. just to fizzle out halfway, or most of the way through, only to be forgotten about at some point in light of the newest idea and plan.
Worst part is… going back later to finish up that thought into a complete and fully fleshed out article that still feels relevant and real seems to fall flat more often than not.
So, what do we do?
We move forward. One idea at a time. We don’t get bogged down by the “starts” of the past and let it affect the present, but as we have time, we go back and look at the possibilities and choose the ones that still feel right, still have purpose and meaning and opportunity!
To that end, we hope that at some point we have a clearer path that one can follow along the way, that it’s not too disjointed and out of sync.
I know for myself, when I try to make this Blog what it once was long long ago, I utterly and completely fail. Yet, when I try to move forward with the new and present reality of my everyday life, it feels incongruous with the rest of where I’ve been here in the past.
And that brings me here. Reminding myself… and all of you… that every day is a brand new day. That we can’t always go back and make something out of what we once planned, but may instead have to move forward in an entirely new direction. And that’s ok.
